ABOUT ME

As I write this, I’m wondering how honest I can be with my intro. Will anyone read it? Will it be lost in the abyss that is the internet? Will people stumble upon my name as they Google the lyrics to Tubalemye-Ba-Yahweh? Which, by the way, is my full name.

Hi! My name is Tuba and I am an over-sharer with a serious fear of becoming a conversational narcissist. My answer to that?

Start a blog, that way I have an excuse for;

1. Taking pics in sometimes awkward places

2. (Over)sharing my life and experiences with those (un)fortunate enough to stumble upon my ramblings.

Initially, I called this  Stamped Travel Blog (hence the logo), but I realised I did not want to define myself only as a travel blogger but as a girl who loves books, dancing, sleeping in, going to parties, hosting said parties, game/national parks, botanical gardens, museums, natural hair, ice cream, fruit, sweet drinks, long drives, new places and the beach.

Yes, this girl from landlocked Zambia living in a landlocked city loves “the beach”.

So far, I have been to 28 countries on solo, group, work and baecation trips. I have also read well over a thousand books, used about 200 tubs of hair products, eaten over 2,000 ice cream cones, and attended over 70 job interviews before landing my dream job.

These are things that I will share here, on my little corner of the internet. Thank you for spending your precious time reading this. I apologise for my use of the word “baecation”. If you never want to read a word I write after this, I totally understand. However, I’d stick around if I were you.

When I’m not starting a war over the Victoria Falls, I (quite literally) lend my voice to the fight against biodiversity loss and climate change, and to the plight of Africa's Forgotten Fishes.

I am also an avid storyteller with a deep love for the written word, and I love being in the public eye, so call me for MC and VO gigs, while I can still be paid in Fanta Orange.
